Did I mention before this Motorcycle gig is Expensive..?

Eloisa needs some new Tires (or Tyres depending on where you're located on the globe, either way they're big round black rubber things which hopefully are the only items on your motorcycle that make contact with the road surface, if they're not you've either got something very loosely connected or even worse; you're screaming very loudly at this moment and reading this little advice is probably to late!). So after a little research and a bit of a Pow Wow with all the Top Boys and Girls on the XRV.ORG a specific brand and type of booty was selected for her ladyship to shod, along with new Brake Pads front and rear (these are the things that stop you before your end up 'screaming very loudly' (see above), and therefore of uppermost importance), and a new heavy duty chain and sproket set.

Oh and did I mention I needed my carbs balanced (I've got know idea at all what that is, just Biking Lingo for something that envloves a slightly higher degree of skill than I currently posses, though I'm told by everyone that knows how to do it that its very easy, isn't that always the way! ;o) )

And wouldn't you beleive it, just a few weeks before I have to leave Chichester and move to sunny, windy and very very flat Cambridgeshire (The biggest advantage about Cambridgeshire I've found so far is that most of their speed cameras are forward facing!!! Yippee :o)))) (For you non-bikers out there, motorcycles don't display registration plates at the front, hence the happiness!)), I find a Tame Ex-Honda Motorcycle mechanic just up the road from me to do all the work at a more than reasonable price, fantastic :o) He only charged me a few hours labour ontop of the parts prices, that and he managed to greese and lubricate almost everything on Elosia while he was there (I'm never ever gonna find a Guy like that again, he loved her to peices!).

Anyways, no exact figures here, but that lot aint cheap, worth it admitedly, shes running just peachy, well almost, it's now confirmed that my steering head bearings are on there way out... Ummm again I have no idea what that means, but it does sound serious doesn't it!

But hey on the upside, for my Birthday I bought her lots of nice things, a new Tank Bag, some new standy up on things, a mesh headlight protector, a new touring screen, a new battery and various other little bits. That, and I had to spend almost £500 on getting her an Alarm fitted because the new abode doesn't have a garage! But then again, she has also had a very nice freebie :o) My 'Olds' and other members of my family donated some cash over Christmas and the 'Getting even older' period and purchased me a Personalised Index for her "A7 XRV"... ('XRV' is the Bike Model, its short for Africa Twin!)... The full current Modification list to Eloisa is here!

So about this Lottery win? ;o)

carbs balancing...wasn't that Atkins? Surely they weren't insinuating you'd overdone the birthday cake?
