Enduro Riding... Not!
So Saturday arrives, previous plans for the weekend had been scraped at the last minuet, so what to do? Ummm... Suppose I could get on me bike and go for a little ride, after all the bike needs testing as much as possible before the 'Big Trip' and also I need as much experience riding her (I know, weak, but what the hell...). So with the bike fully loaded, including a mad volunteer riding pillion (thanx to the fearless 'suicidal tendencies' of Gemmak for that one ;o)), off we go.
300+ miles and 7 hours later we park up, Trebarwith Strand in Cornwall, somewhere I'd never been before, but had previously been reliably informed by Gem was well worth a visit, it was, she was right, not that I was really in any state to appreciate the stunning views. Two pints of 'G', a bit of tucker and I was wasted, where's my comfy bed!
Sunday, the reverse, back via the motorways though this time, we'd ridden down on the slow but very scenic A35/A30 coast roads, so it was time to give the bike a good 'Airing' on the fast bits. All weekend she behaved with impeccable manners, unlike me after a couple of pints of Guinness :o)
OK I admit it, after nearly 700 miles in 2 days I was shattered, another early night was required Sunday, this long distance riding takes stamina, I need more practice! ;o)
Anyway, that's about my weekend :o) (I'll tell you about the UFO and alian encounter another time :o) )
