Weekend Whisky

So a weekend entry then... Ummm... Lets see... What day is it? Oh yeah Sunday... (What Alcohol abuse... Moi ;o) ), Ummm... so what's been going down...

I could have a whinge about the price I was charged for a Malt Whisky at the Hilton Hotel last night! OK I will :o)

So there I am, at the Governors leaving bash (He's Immigrating to OZ, lucky B'stard!), so a very acceptable 'Do' had been laid on in one of the functions rooms at the Hotel. Needless to say, the opportunity was there for me to enjoy a few sherbets, so I duly partook :o) (I know I am weak!!)

So the evening went well, I'm enjoying myself, good food, good entertainment, good company, until the point when my sixth pint of Guinness was finished. This point is my own personal Guinness threshold, the point where the G.I.R. (Guinness Intake Ratio) is reached (The volume of Guinness consumed is greater than my bladder capacity, and more volume would now equate to the time now spent in the toilet exceeding the length of time actually spent at the bar!). When reaching my G.I.R. point the norm is to then proceed onto a few nice Malts to sustain the intake levels of alcohol but reduce the cubic contents required to be expelled in the little boys room.

Dobby's glass was empty as was mine, so I proceeded to the bar, (Dobby's always quite a laugh once you get him on the spirits :o) ), after asking anyone else if they required replenishment at the bar (Sorry Silver Beaver, It was me, yes I admit it, I spilt your drink not you ;o) ), five drinks where ordered and served, just five; no more; no less, and I accordingly handed over £20 note... Ummm...

"Sorry Sir that's £28.70"
"How MUCH for 5 drinks!"

A receipt was handed to me to examine! £4.20 for a single shot of Malt Whisky, and I'm not talking about a good 1975 Ardbeg here, I'm talking cheap bottom of the range Glenfiddich! And I'd ordered two large ones for me and Dobbs!!! Four Whiskies £16.80!!! They were having a Giraffe! Though of course they weren't!

Anyway, after that it was back to consuming the free Merlot on the tables! ;o)

So, there you go, just better add, (Cus I know he reads it occasionally), a 'Good Luck' message to the Boss... Good Luck Boss, the last 11 Years have been good ones, hope everything for your family and you pans out just kool :o) If you never have dreams, they can never come true, so go get yours :o)

It's been emotional ;o)
