Funny Old Week

Its been a funny old week... Un-settled and disjointed... Bit weird...

On the up side my own personal Jesus performed yet another miracle and managed to fix my Coffee mug, dispelling all my previous misconceptions that I might previous of had about the capabilities and professionalism of IT Help Desks to actually address real important issues, (Well I say fix, it was described more as a 'work around'. The handle that had previously snapped off was re-applied with the use of Masking Tape!!!), so I'd like to give a Big Oink to JC for that one... "OINK" ;o)

Work, Ummm... spent a day giving Demos of my new system to potential customers, then had to spend a few days in Cambridge, again! On the upside I had a different hotel to usual, this was a good thing :o) Not only did I get a free upgrade to a Suite (complete with a family of Rubber Ducks in the bath :o) ), but more importantly the Bar they served Guinness, I could smoke and I could use my Laptop!

Ohhh... and at the start of the week I had to extract half a tooth that I'd managed to splinter off... OK not quite half, but enough to leave a big enough cavity in my gum for my tongue to continuously find sub-consciously interesting!

Managed to get to see 'The De Vinci Code' last night, bit disappointing, It felt slightly watered down for a 'conservative' American audience, oh and Tom Hanks was miscast. Fletchy-Norman rating, 6 out of 10 being generous, think I might of enjoyed it more if I hadn't read the book (As is always the way!).

Thought for the week... Have you ever wondered why some people get scared around others that know them very well? Seems odd to me, guess it's because myself, I like the feeling of security I get that I'm not alone and there's someone else there who understands me, it makes me feel just a little saner, if not slightly more vulnerable. To quote from a line from the film 'About A Boy'... "Every man is an island. I stand by that. But clearly men are part of island chains. Underneath, they are connected"... Ohhh and If I'm an island I want to be F**king Ibiza :o) LOL
