Whos Guilty?

Sorry folks for lack of rambling complete Tosh recently, but me been poorly :o(

This weekend I've suddenly been struck down with some kind of 'Killer' lurgee... (OK 'Killer' might be a bit OTT, but I'm a man ;o))

It started last week with the onset of full blown Man Flu (No the real type, not like you girlies get! ;o) ), then this weekend it's subsequently progressed into the Killer Lurgee, symptoms which include a death deifying headache, D&V, nose bleeds and a 'Super Nova' like fever...

So, who do I owe this pleasure? My own Mother that's who!

I popped over Saturday and was duly feed Hot Bread and Banana Muffins... That's all I had to eat prior to the onset, so logic dictates it's her fault, she's trying to Kill Me!

My revenge, will equal in its effects and stature. And as the old phrase says, 'Revenge is a dish best served cold'... I'm thinking of maybe knocking up a Fantastic Horiatiki for her birthday dinner ;o)

If Destiny We Cannot See

To write the rites to right my wrongs; an epitaph to a broken dream.
To exercise this silent scream; a scream that's born from sorrow.

If destiny we cannot see, and our eyes and ears deceive our hearts and minds;
... then the road we travel is just a mirage.
If destiny we cannot see, what we believe to be the truth;
... is just then our interpretation of others reality and deceit.
If destiny we cannot see, then the pain in our heart shouldn't really exist;
... and the scars of true love lost should cease to bleed.
If destiny we cannot see, where do we go and what do we trust;
... it's the living with uncertainty that frightens us.
If destiny we cannot see, all we can do is wait for what fate offers;
... stop questioning what's happing to us and believe.
If destiny we cannot see, let it be;
... who knows what's meant for us, we can't foresee.

To Hope

For a friend, thank you for sharing, remember there's always Hope :o)

TO HOPE:

When by my solitary hearth I sit,
And hateful thoughts enwrap my soul in gloom;
When no fair dreams before my "mind's eye" flit,
And the bare heath of life presents no bloom;
Sweet Hope, ethereal balm upon me shed,
And wave thy silver pinions o'er my head!

Whene'er I wander, at the fall of night,
Where woven boughs shut out the moon's bright ray,
Should sad Despondency my musings fright,
And frown, to drive fair Cheerfulness away,
Peep with the moonbeams through the leafy roof,
And keep that fiend Despondence far aloof!

Should Disappointment, parent of Despair,
Strive for her son to seize my careless heart;
When, like a cloud, he sits upon the air,
Preparing on his spell-bound prey to dart:
Chase him away, sweet Hope, with visage bright,
And fright him as the morning frightens night!

Whene'er the fate of those I hold most dear
Tells to my fearful breast a tale of sorrow,
O bright-eyed Hope, my morbidfancy cheer;
Let me awhile thy sweetest comforts borrow:
Thy heaven-born radiance around me shed,
And wave thy silver pinions o'er my head!

Should e'er unhappy love my bosom pain,
From cruel parents, or relentless fair;
O let me think it is not quite in vain
To sigh out sonnets to the midnight air!
Sweet Hope, ethereal balm upon me shed,
And wave thy silver pinions o'er my head!

In the long vista of the years to roll,
Let me not see our country's honour fade:
O let me see our land retain her soul,
Her pride, her freedom; and not freedom's shade.
From thy bright eyes unusual brightness shed
Beneath thy pinions canopy my head!

Let me not see the patriot's high bequest,
Great Liberty! how great in plain attire!
With the base purple of a court oppress'd,
Bowing her head, and ready to expire:
But let me see thee stoop from heaven on wings
That fill the skies with silver glitterings!

And as, in sparkling majesty, a star
Gilds the bright summit of some gloomy cloud;
Brightening the half veil'd face of heaven afar:
So, when dark thoughts my boding spirit shroud,
Sweet Hope, celestial influence round me shed,
Waving thy silver pinions o'er my head!

Arcade Fire

Sometimes a Band just grabs in an instant and you know they 'Rock', I'd really like to say Arcade Fire did that for me, but they didn't. Mr.Chris Moyles introduced them to me a month or so back, I was indifferent at first, but after having their Album, Funeral, on repeat in the Car for a while something happened, something clicked for me. I found myself drawn in, until I couldn't stop listening to it, and now I can only describe the Album as truely awesome.

I read a review describing them as the kings of Melancholy somewhere and that to me about sums them up... Not happy, not sad, just moody, Track 7 'Wake Up' and track 9 Rebellion (Lies), once u get past the U2 style intro, are just so kool, In fact i'm hard pushed to find a single track on the album I don't like, which is extremely unusual for me. (I haven't heard an album so complete since maybe 'The Joshua Tree').

Now I know u lot over the Pond are gonna give me a hard time because they're rather big over there and been around quite a while, (they've just won the Juno's I believe), but over here in old blighty, it seems that Chris and I are the only people that have heard of them !!!

So if u can afford £7.97 buy the album now from Amazon, do it, its well worth it, but the only thing I would say is give it a chance, play it three or four times before u make a judgement... I really is well worth it...

Hey.... :o)

Goodbye Moto

I know most of you have been where I was on Sunday; in complete panic; overtaken by urgency; overwhelming desperation and complete isolation.

Was it just the way I lifted the seat; the turn of my waist; the way I'd positioned her just moments before. Who knows these answers; who knows why these things happen, why fate choose this path for me, these things are purely incidental and they matter not now.

It didnt change the fact that my hand was now positioned up the 'U-bend' trying desperately to retrieve my mobile phone that only seconds before had leaped from my Pocket and dropped down the Toilet...

Goodbye Moto :o/

OK OK so it might of had something to do with the drink :o)

Just a Thought...

A Blog a blog I here you (both of you ;o)), cry...

OK so its been a few days without an entry from me and the guilt's beginning to set in, so best I knock something up for your amusement, pity, whatever ;o)

OK A BIG Question then...

What makes the human race different, if we are at all, from any other species on this planet?

The first thing that hits me when I ask that question is that as species we can all foresee our own deaths, not the survival aspects, the pure mortality, we can understand the 'futility' of our own existence. Something each of us have to combat each and everyday, handling it in our own ways, whether by not ponder the issue, accepting it, or choosing to believe in an afterlife.

But I believe the major difference between humanity and other species is responsibility. We have a collective responsibility for the environment we exist in, we can see 'The Bigger Picture'. Its humanities responsibility to safe guard the world not just for ourselves, but for every species here, we are the only species capable of understanding this and acting upon it...

No that's not a speech on behalf of 'Green Peace' just something in my confused little mind I might believe... :o)

STOP THE KILLING

START THE FRY UP ;o)

What? It made me Laugh :o)

Any further answers on the back of a post card please :o)

Dreams...

"In Dreams begin responsibilities, could it be we take our dreams to lightly, those images of people we know? Could they in fact be angels in flight, our souls aloft?" - William Butler Yeats

What are our dreams; our inner self; our spirit; our being, if nothing more than our true ambitions and aspirations? Dreams take us to the place where we do not dare to venture but where we would prefer to be, without having to leave the safe existence of our own realities...

So why don't we dare to act on these dreams, these passions? Because 'Life' usually finds a way to hold them back, repress them and as we get older we lose the 'will of youth' to show no fear. We become too comfortable within our safe existence, safe because 'Life' in its purest form is no more than a compromise and with compromise comes our own failure to push ourselves; to push our boundaries; to take the chances required to achieve the possible rewards, and thus so we compramise our dreams...

'Life' masks our dreams of 'what we want' or truely desire, it can make them appear virtually impossible to achieve, or it makes them appear a to perilous risk to take.

"The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want." - Ben Stein

OK, so someones offered to lend me a Compass, now anyone got a map of Myanmar? :o)
